I created the first iteration of TopTypes in April 2009 as an experiment under the umbrella of a site called Purchase.com (Purchase.com/blog/psychology) – horrible name/home for it, I know!

The experiment was to see if anyone would check it out.

I simply listed what I knew about personality types, including famous people who were reported to be certain types.

A few hundred thousand people ended up checking it out over the next couple of years; and what I found really fascinating were the comments people began making about their own types and those of others.

So in December 2011 I gave it its own home: TopTypes.com (you can see here that I love alliteration: The Best Examples Of Alliteration In Business, Brands & Other Stuff), so finding the domain name TopTypes was very satisfying.

I invested a little $ dough on a TopTypes logo (using 99Designs) and a cool designer from Croatia named Bergovec Vedran came through with what you see today!

I am not a licensed personality type expert but the subject fascinates me.

I have used personality types (especially the 16 personality types popularized by Gustav Jung and Myers-Briggs™) for work and for play.
